Born in Carlow, Ireland, I was given a passion of soccer since the moment my dad put a ball at my feet. Manchester United had my heart from the beginning, with David Beckham, Ryan Giggs and Roy Keane as my heroes throughout my childhood. My first competitive experience came at 5 years old as a member of the County Carlow U10 club team. For 2 years I developed within the club as a striker until my family moved to San Antonio, Texas in November 1998. San Antonio provided me with a massive network of clubs and experience to develop throughout my youth career. These years culminated in 4 seasons of varsity soccer at Churchill HS which included a State Runner-Up finish in 2008 and captaincy as a Senior. My club career began with an independent team named Alamo Force United where I started as an attacking midfielder for our Super Two State-Cup Runner-Up squad in 2007. Following my 7 years with AFU, I took the opportunity to move to Classics Elite Soccer Academy from 2008-2010. At Classics I had the privilege of playing and training under Walter Rule, the winningest high school coach in Texas soccer.
Following a successful HS and club career I attended The University of Texas at Austin, where I played as a member of the university’s Men’s Club Soccer Team, the highest level of competition available at the school. Over 3 seasons we played in two National Club semifinals and one National Club Championship.
Upon graduation in 2014, I returned to San Antonio and took my first coaching position as an academy coach with Classics Elite Soccer Academy. There I developed a passion for sharing my love of the game and helping youth players reach their full potential. After two and a half years with CESA, I was presented the opportunity to take on 3 competitive senior teams with SA United Soccer Club from 2016-2017. In Spring 2017, I accepted the position of Junior Academy Director for 360 Soccer and Chester Springs United travel club outside of Philadelphia, PA. After 8 months in Pennsylvania, and Texas still in my heart, I returned to San Antonio to became a Staff Coach with Buffalos FC, hoping to bring my love for player development and education to an excellent young club in the SA area.
I am currently a USSF D Licensed coach, pursuing my National Youth License and USSF C License in the coming year.
